Emily held tightly to Matt’s hand as they left the Registar’s office. She found that she had been less nervous when confronted with a frightful arboreal raptor. While the filed the appropriate paperwork, she kept imagining that something terrible would happen to keep them from completing the task.
But nothing dreadful occurred, and now she and Matt were in possession of a license to wed.
Matt was a bit surprised at how easy that went. But he was happy. Finally something worked out well. No surprising apocalypses and nothing.
“Well… that was easy.”
Emily nodded. She turned to him and smiled slightly. “It was. Though, we still have the small matter of our wedding to plan.”
”Smaller?”, Matt asked His voice sounded amused. “I think that’s the bigger part, my lady.”
“Well…yes.” Matt was right. The wedding was no small matter. There was still much to be done, much to plan. They still had yet to move into the house. “What shall we do next?”
”Go home and continue to pack?”, Matt suggested with a smile. “There is still plenty to do.”
“Yes,” Emily agreed. “I will prepare some lunch for us, something simple.”
